All it does is url encode the mail address. Spambots are smart enough to search for "%40" as well as @ . Some similar pages also encode the "mailto". Url encoding helps for some weak spambots. Best method is still to either use a form with the email address either scripted or pulled from a db. If you do need to display an email address, use a gif/jpg. -------------

Yeah not a 100% fool proof, but does deter some spam bots.
