I am using v7.9 and have had it installed and running flawlessly (many kudos to boRg) on Brinkster (pro) since last July.  I have made no mods, other than minor HTML tweaks.  In the past few weeks users have suddenly began having login problems - logins that have worked for months have stopped working.  The only way it seems to fix the problem is to reset the user's password, inform the user of what it has been reset to and have them login and change their password. They are then able to access the forum for a while, but eventually (a day or 2) the problem reoccurs.

How this began happening certainly points to some change that occured on the server.  I've probably read every post here dealing with login/cookie problems but still can't seem to track down the problem.  It's happening for users using both IE and Firefox - some on PCs, some on Macs.

The one thing I've noticed is that a cookie named "server" is set with a value of 1 or 2. Brinkster says their servers are clustered to provide load balancing - I'm wondering if this could have something to do with it.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
DH

Setting blnUseApplicationVariables = false seems to have remedied the problem.
( but don't ask me to explain WHY that solves it Smile )
