I am very impressed by the RTE, it will solve a LOT of problems (and requests from) our clients.Big smile
Especially with the IESpell connection as it takes the worry of licensing from us (the developer) and puts it into the clients hands. Big smile

Now.. Usage instructions seem to very sparce.

Apart from getting the RTE to display on a form, there is little or no information in a ReadMe etc to tell the developer HOW to get it to display their text, and also how to then get the updated text back.

I'd prefer not to have to reverse engineer the product to work this out, not spend many hours looking through X number of furom posts.

We use a lot of iframes in ours applications and use the DOM extensively to get information from fields on the parent, and then update the parent from the iframe.
We also do the standard work of getting information from a database and then updating the information back again.

Many thanks for any information you can provide.

I do plan on witting more extensive install instructions for the final release of version 2.0. (I'm not sure as you haven't said so I'm guessing you are using an older 1.x version)

I plan to write these install instructions next week, and also as well as the main download include a sample pack that will have examples of displaying data as well as reading and saving data to a database.

The present version 2.0 beta 2 is much simpler to install and does come with some install and integration instructions, also some notes in the actual program code.

Version 2.0 beta 2 has been released without the extensive install instructions for people to test, but from feed back so far most people have said how easy it is to integrate and install, and I am pretty confident that nearly all the bugs have been ironed out for this beta 2 release.

Actually its Version 2 we are looking at.

I had a look at it and tested it with its example. There seem to be so few issues so I decided to go ahead and use it.

Looking forward to the final release.

Take Care

Marc
