 ADODB.Recordset error '800a0cb3'

Current Recordset does not support updating. This may be a limitation of the provider, or of the selected locktype.

/pm_post_message.asp, line 306

Any idea what that problem is ?

This is a bit difficult to workout the problem as you haven't followed the guidelines for posting in the support forum so really need some more details:-

What version are you running?
What database type?
Is this an upgrade?
Have you tried reuploading files?

I'm not getting any of these errors on your forum.

Are they intermitent errors?

They are certainly database errors, so it could be worth getting onto your web host about them, as it looks like your forum is well established so it's not the normal getting started type problem.

Have you recently changed anything in your forum or on the MS SQL server? Maybe even changed hosts?

As you have given two different errors certainly need allot more detail from you to try a workout what could be coursing the problems.

But a first guess is that it looks like problems with the MS SQL Server you are using.

Have you upgraded from Access version? (you still haven't said!!)

This error is apparently common if you don't move across from Access to MS SQL Server in a particular way.

I made a post sticky the other day about how to move from Acess to MS SQL Server, maybe worth you reading through it.

Yes he moved from Access to SQL.  Actually this worked flawlessly on my SQL server.  So I imported everything from my SQL server to JdoHost.  Three hours later (since JodoHost could not set up the transaction logs properly) we finally got the data over.

Now since this was working on my SQL server but not Jodo Host, it makes me beleive that it is the permissions on Jodo host?

Are you sure it worked on your server??

Have you been through the following sticky topic that I mentioned in my previous posts that gives the same error??

http://forums.webwiz.net/forum_posts.asp?TID=12975&PN=1 - http://forums.webwiz.net/forum_posts.asp?TID=12 975&PN=1

Apparently you need to create the database before you move the data across to prevent this error, if you upsize from MS Acess to SQL Server you get the error you mention.
