Subject: How do I edit the auto responder message?

Hello,
Is there a way to edit the auto responder message on WebWiz forums? For instance, when the subscribers have their options set to be emailed every time there is a new post on the board or when somebody posts a new message, then they will be emailed to their personal email with the replies. Is there a way that we can add pictures to the email or make it a little more colorful with banners or similar? Add a banner along with the email message? thank you for your time in advance.

Tom

to edit the wording of emails this can be done in the .language/language_inc.asp file in the language folder.

top eoiit the other sections you will have to edit the forum files.

I don't see that email that was sent to me upon my confirmation or even the email the email that was sent to me when I was notified of your email in the language files. I want to add a banner to the email notifies that people get from my group. Is there a way to do this? The language files show how to change the text but not add a banner. Is there more detailed instructions showing how to do this?

Am I confused or have you posted in the wrong forum.

This forum is for support for the mailing list application, but you are mentioning web wiz forums.

Which software application is it that you are wanting to change?

if its at the top of each email you can edit the send_mail_fuinctions file in the functions folder..

be careful not to change any of the WWF email modifications within the file. you need to add something like this

strEmailBody = "image path & strEmailBody

Webwiz forum. Did I post in the wrong forum? Oops. I really like this Webwiz bulletin board. I just switched from PHP to Webwiz and I wanted to send banners in thier emails with their subscribed newsletters and notified posts. I also seen one forum where where the actual reply post was sent to their email inbox instead of having to click and log into the server of the actual webwiz forum to read the reply. Can Webwiz do this? Because sometimes there can be 50 posts a day and it would be easier for the people to just go down the line of their email folder and read them instead of clicking the link and logging into the forum.  Should I post in the other forum if this is the wrong one? Thanks.Smile

this topic has been moved to the correct forum.

you can enable a feature in the admin area that allows the reply message to be sent to the users email address with the notification of a reply.

Perfect. Thanks. Now I just need to figure out how to add a banner or static text to the notify emails of the responds to posts. Anybody on this forum know how to do this? Thanks again. Smile

to edit the begining of a message you need to edit the send_mail_function.asp file.

any email sent will have the banner at the top.

also add the code at the end of the validating use strEmailBody = strEmailBody & "ImagePath"

to between a message sent you will have to eidit the code within the post_message.asp file or the language file adding the nessecary code.

also check my last post about modifing the file.
