This may or may not be related to the forum code or not, if not, and anyone has a clue, please let me know via private messenger.

My server was working beautifully, however it was somewhat exposed.  I moved it to a more "secure" location last night.  Here's what changed:

New IP address (internal network) behind a hardware firewall.  (Was a direct connection to the 'net using embedded firewalling on the server, yes, I know, "BAD MONKEY!" LOL

Port 80 requests forwarded to the new IP address.

DNS from external DNS servers to internal.

Since the move, whenever someone replies to a post, they get the dreaded "Internal Server Error", but the reply gets posted.  It's also not consistant.

Has anyone seen this or is this?  Could it concievably have something to do with the DNS change?  I wouldn't think so but I've seen weirder behaviour...

please turn off HTTP friendly error messages and post the real problem (error).

then we can tell you what the problem is.

it can be a number of things.

Yeah, I realized that after I posted that I had the friendly errors turned on.  It has something to do with the email functionality, as soon as I turn it all off, things start working they way they should.....

Exact message is:

CDO.Message.1 error '80040213'

The transport failed to connect to the server.

/forum/functions/functions_send_mail.asp, line 136

I'm using CDOSYS on a 2K3 server.  Since this is all outbound traffic, I would think that the firewall directing port 25 to another server on my network would, or should, have no effect.  Am I mistaken?

does your mail server require authorising to allow sending.

as the mail server may be stopping it if the username/password for the mail server is not correct. and in turn create an error.

apart from that i am not sure .

This error also occurs if the SMTP server can not be reached.

If you have changed hosts have you updated the SMTP server details to that of your new host?
