that is because the folder(s) the file is being saved to don't exist, make sure the path set in the RTE is correct. and have read/write permissions.

When I save the file with another name it works ok but not when I save with the same name as an exising filename. The map exist and it has r/w permissions.

no you can't overright a file, sorry i mis read your first post, you could do a check before actual upload, if file exists delete the original file  then upload new one.

Is there a built in function somewhere for deleting files?

i don't think so. you need to do so via the FSO objects. you can find details on FileExists, Deleting on the following website

You can over write existing files but you need to tell the RTE to do so in the setup file.

Also you need to have modify permissions on the directory the file is to be saved to as well as write permissions

I did look in the setup file without finding that part, I will take a look again. I hope you are right because that would save a lot of time for me.
