I batch deleted topics that have not been posted in for a whole year (good housekeeping) and expected the forum database size to drop down from its current 150 meg to significantly less

The forum database is still the same size, doesn't the forum 'actually delete' these files or does it move them to a safe/unused part of the database ??
Is there a safe, quick way of reducing the db size when batch deleting?

p.s. thanks for all the support in 2004, its been great!

For whatever reason MS have done it, when you delete data from an access database it doesn't actually delete the data so the database size remains the same.

Once you delete data from an access database to get the size to decrease you need to compact and repair the database.
