I have an issue on my PC that stops me from accessing some sites.

When i go www.alexa.com the browser redirects to http://www.alexa.com/localstart.asp and will ask for a password. If i click cancel it comes up with a 401.3 access denied error

It happens on a few other sites as well. I have another PC next to me on the same network and it works fine.

Any ideas? Happens on IE and FireFox

im not sure on this, but are the MTU settings correct on the computer, i had problems with my entire network once where MSN, and some websites wouldn't work.

did you have to set them up for the other computer.

I do not know what MTU is so i have never set it on the other PC. The other PC is win 98 and mine is XP Pro SP2. It has been doing it before XP2 though.
