What version are you using? Access or SQL Server?

Access only has a limited number of connections when using ASP and ADO.

Generally web servers have an application pool for Access database of 20 concurrent connections at once shared across the entire server for all sites.

Although each connection is only open for milli seconds, with a large number of active users and other sites also on the same server you are going to quickly use up all the connections available in the servers connection pool.

If you have a busy and large forum like your own the only solution is to use MS SQL Server as the database backend, which doesn't have these limitations.
