hi guys can you confirm that its best ot have 3 10 kb images instead of 1 30 kb image

if it makes any difference they are jpeg's

I think, but I'm not sure and don't hold me to this, that with smaller files the HTT Protocal can use some fast thing instead of its slow thing or something.  Basically small files (I think it's like 5kb) transfer faster.  I don't know.  Something like that.

Surely more images mean more connections to the server resulting in a slower loading time?

Don't know about images but I read that CSS files should try to be kept under 5kb to allow fast transfer or something.  I dont know much about it.

It's all a matter of perception. 10 images would load about the same time, but because you see some before they load it would appear to load faster.
