I hope I posted this in the right forum, because I was not sure where it should be.

Anyway, I think Web Wiz is the greatest forum system in the whole world. I have tried a lot of other forum-systems, but this is my favorite.
But the problem is - I can't run it on my site! I have a host with a Unix-server and php and mySQL. Then I can't run it! Isn't it really any possibilites at all for me to run it? NO downloads in the whole word for hosts like mine? There are almost no one now who use ASP, so very few people can use Web Wiz. That is very pity, because this system is the greates ever.
What should I do? Will it never be made a Web Wiz for Unix-servers/php? Only ASP? Neeever? Is it hard to make another version?

Is my only way out to buy a asp-host? I don't think I will, because almost everything I need to have installed on my site requires php. I just can't get over it. Why does not Web Wiz support php? Angry
I have heard that I can use Web Wiz on free ASP-hosts, but I think that's lame when I'm already paying for a host, and want a fast forum.

Please give me some suggestions and answers.

I do not know very much about this, so I hope I can get a reply.
Thanks in advance.

Windows web servers, back in the NT4 days use to have a very bad reputation and uptime wasn't to good, which is why allot of people use Unix based servers for their web sites.

However, over the last 5 years Windows servers have got allot better, with Windows 2000 and 2003. So now having your site on a Windows web server much more stable.

Because of this more and more people are using Windows based web servers, NOT less as you seem to think. Espaicvally with Win 2003 web server edition making Windows web hosting much cheaper.

Web Wiz Forums is written in ASP for those people using Windows based web servers.

If you are on a Unix based server, then there are 100's of PHP based forums out there, like phpBB, Invision, YABB, and many, many, more.

If I were to make a Web Wiz Forums version in PHP, not only would it take along time to do (maybe even years to get up to the standard of the ASP version is now), it would also make it much more complicated to support two code bases, but also it would be a complete waste of time against the number of really good PHP based forums out there.

If you want a cheap Windows based web host, that also offers MS SQL Server to give Web Wiz Forrms the best performance, then checkout our own hosting at http://www.webwiz.net/webhosting" rel="nofollow - www.webwiz.net/webhosting it's just $6.99 per month inc. SQL Server.

You could go with a windows host that also provides support for PHP. I just changed to http://www.easycgi.com - www.easycgi.com and they provide asp and php on a windows platform (according to their site). I don't use php, but I just switched to this host and so far their customer support has been 100 times better than my previous host and no problems so far...I love them...or maybe my previous host just sucked really really bad. LOL.
