Hi there,

I have an irritating problem.

If I log in, every post and member and indeed every type of date appears as '30 December 1899'

If I don't log in, they are as normal.

I have changed the Session.LCID in common.asp to 2057 and removed the '

What can I do? And why does this problem seem to be so frequent amongst these forums. I have never encountered it before on a personal development based. Can you not alter the code to get rid of this problem?

Many thanks

Jack

The 30 December 1899 is the date at which VB Script starts at for dates.

If your forum is returning this date then for some reason the date is not being feed into the forum correctly and so VB Script is defaulting to it's start date.

Things that could course this problem is if all the dates and locales on the server, set in the servers control panel, are not all set to the same locale.

If this is the case it could mean that dates in Access and dates for the web server are saved differently cousing this problem.

The strangest thing is, when I look in the database, the correct dates appear. (SQL)

Dates are not generally stored in a database in the way they look, often behind the scenes they are stored as decimal numbers, giving a decimal date in secouhds from 30 December 1899.

If the date formats are not compatible then you can get problems like you mention.

Just becuase the date format in the database looks correct, if doesn't mean it is correct.

My fault! I had adjusted the registration page and consequently deleted the date field.

As you are here! I desparately need a way of validation extra fields I have put in.

I have tried putting script in CheckForm() but it then ignores everything else. :( I have tried everything. what can I do?

I want two email boxes and validate both are the same,

and also check that another extra drop down is completed. How do I tie this all into the CheckForm() script so that it pops ups with the usual blurb if incomplete?

Many thanks. Great Forum!!

If none of the javascript validation is running then it suggests that you have made an error in what you have put in.

Download and install Firefox as your browser as it has a really good built in javascript debugger that can help track down what the problem is with your javascript.
