Hello everyone.

I am helping a board owner transfer their current Access WibWiz Forums to SQL Server.

My first problem is that he does not have the SQL Server Install script for version 7.8. Does anyone have that file? Or will the current version work?

I also see there are two different downloads, one for SQL Server, one for Access. Do we need to re-upload a SQL Server version of the forum or will the current version work correctly once MS-SQL is installed?

Is the thread below on migrating Access to SQL Server the best reference?

Thanks!

Lance

For security reasons you should upgrade to 7.9 while you are making the change.

There are only a few files changed between 7.8 and 7.9 which are security fixes to prevent your forum being hacked.

The MS SQL Server version has different common.asp files.

You are best following the migration topic for moving across to SQL Server.

To upgrade to 7.9, should I download the access version? Or is there a special upgrade file I should download. Also, any DB conversions?

Is common.asp the only file I need to worry about then in Access/SQL?

Thanks!

I'd convert the access version to 7.9 first, then upgrade to ms sql - you;d need to download both versions.

In the readme for 7.9, there's a list of the files that have been changed from 7.8 to 7.9
