i setup my forum to allow certain locked forums to upload mp3s to a folder i setup on the site.
however, when a member uploads the files and then views the new message and tries to DL the file, it doesnt play.
*keep in mind that we are not using this as a P2P network or violating
any laws, because the mp3s are original beats and contain original
samples.*
I also noticed that when I upload a file under my account, it creates a
folder with my username and puts my files into that folder. Is it
suppose to do that?

In what way does it not play?
Is the file corrupted?
Is the path wrong?
Yes, it is suppoosed to place the files in a folder named after your username.

file does not play at all, just acts like its going to start and then does nothing but hangs up.
corrupted? not sure. if it is, then its being corrupted during
the upload, because i have tried several different files all different
sizes which are under the max i have set for the limit.
the path cant be wrong because it is uploading to the correct folder.
im not sure why its doing this because i uploaded the same mp3s to various other places to test and they play fine afterwards.

There is nothing in the forum code that would prevent uploading mp3 so
the only thing I can think it maybe is the upload component you are
using as it may not be able to handle the file type.
Try using a different upload component.
If that fails you may have to place the mp3 file in a zip file and see if that works.

Tried the file in a zip and it works ok.
My host only has ASPSmartUpload installed, so im guessing thats whats causing it to fail with mp3s....
Thanks for your help, it worked..
