We have a website that needs to accessibile to blind and nearsighted people. Registering with Webwizforum requires that one retypes a code. Unfortunately there is no Alt tag under this code. Ideal would be an alt-tag with the numbers. But an empty alt-tag would ne alright for the moment. Rightnow our website is rejected from an official accessibility check because of this missing feature.Cry Help would be very much appreciated.

Best regards,

Jeroen

Having an alt tag for the security images would mean the security images would be completely useless.

Sites that use security images, and also in the case of web wiz forums, is to prevent things like remote submission that could be a security risk.

Some bots that do remote form submission have the ability to read the form, if alt tags where used on the security images then these bots could read this and auto-fill in the form, thus making the security images useless.

Thanks your your reply. I understand the problem with remote submission. But still we need to be accessibile for blind people.

For that reason an empty Alt -tag under the security image is the least we can do necessary.

As long as there is no appropriate solution to this problem we offer our blind visitors the service of registering for them.

So is it possible to insert this empty Alt tag somewhere?

Best regards,

Jeroen

If you go to line 1521 of the file register.asp you could add in an alt tag to each image link.
