I am making a database driven site, the problem is at the moment if somebody knew the location of the database on the site they could download it and have access to all the details, is there a way to encrypt or secure the database so that it would be safe.

I would still need to pull information out of the database and display in using the response.write commands though.

the only real way of any sort of security with a access database is to put it above the root folder.

that way you can only access the database via FTP or through your scripts/queries.

or you can go for SQL security but then thats not Access.

they are free arn't they?

if so as i think they are from your other thread.

i dont think you can secure it then unless you can create /uplaod to folders above your root folder, your root folkder is / in relation to relative paths from the root
