Well, besides the frame (which I guess is given by it being a free host) I would loose the java button for contact us. The site itself is fairly basic. For the designs itself well guess a matter of taste guess if someone is looking for something like that it's ok but nothing special IMHO.

Perhaps consider using a san-serif font such as Arial or Verdana.  It looks more professional in my opinion.

I don't think the mouse overs for the thumbnailed backgrounds are necessary.  Since the mouse-over image is not much different than the original it is a waste of bandwidth for people with slower connections.

Can someone help me with a question: Regarding banners on my website, can i remove them as this is a free web space which the server puts the banners on. Or am i not aload to do this. Dont want to do this just in case i  might upset my server. Does anyone know.

Thanks

Definetly do not try to remove the ads.  The way the web space is free is because they sell advertising space to companies.  If they catch you trying to remove ads, they can terminate your webspace.  It's all in the agreement you made when you signed-up.

Thanks I did go back and read the agreement and you are correct. I will not do it.

Thanks

It's not easy to find what you are searching.

I have searched the same thing in the last years, but i have never find a good free hosting.

The problems normally are:

- banners or pop-up;
- instabile hosting (a few time down)
- up and download without an FTP Program

I suggest you to find a good hosting with lower costs and not a free host.

Here i give you the adress of a list of free ASP Hostings, you can try the links:

mmzz you can put the exe files in a zip file , or you can link to the exe file  for example <a href="something.exe">vb stuff</a>

<a href="blabla.zip">vb stuff </a> if u click on the link ie normaly ask if you wana download this file , but if i were you , i'd check with the server first , some hosts don't allow exe files .. and btw http://www.dotnetplayground.com - www.dotnetplayground.com is a good free host , but they can cancel your hosting if you don't use the .net stuff ...

Bren,

In my opinion I'd lose the animation in the title.  A scrolling marquee for the title doesn't make too much sense.  Normally you'd use the marquee to display a large amount of information (ex: news) in a confined horiz/vert. space.

I also agree with cr*piecorn about the contact us button.  I'd say just use a regular button, or image... not flash.

Hope the comments are of some help!

I don't see your email address when I visit your site.... where are you talking about? Is that why you used a flash button?

People keep advising me on getting rid of the flash button and use an ordinary button. If I use an ordinary button it will show my e-mail address,l need  java script code so it does not show my e-mail address. I am not to please with my web page I am going to do a better one. Will let you know how I am getting on with it.

I almost agree... sans-serif fonts just happen to be easier to read on-screen. Serif fonts are better in print for readability. Why? No clue. That's just they way it is.

*snip*

Javascript will not protect you from bots harveting your email address and spamming you. Flash is better... until the spam-bots improve...

Consider a server side script and client side form. They can look very good and give you a great deal of control over the process. (e.g. You can then set priorities, format the mail, etc.)

Cheers

i saw a Javascript on http://www.dynamicdrive.com - www.dynamicdrive.com that scrambles your email addres... you can have the opion to so show the email address (in the html its scrambled) or use a pic...

i heard that Spam-Bots get ya email address from the html, so i guess it would work

(click on the link above and go to "New" and you'll see a email scrabler thing)
