how can i replace null values with my own text in sql queries. i know the set null "mytext" sql plus command but i dont know how to do this in sql query during selection rows in table.. ne1 help me.. how to replace null values in a table by mytext in sql query

not sure what you mean but this will update every field in real name that has a null value

UPDATE tblAuthor SET tblAuthor.Real_name = "mytext"
WHERE (((tblAuthor.Real_name) Is Null));
