I was wondering if there is any way to make a sub-forum that prevents new topics from being created, but allows posts within the current topics.  I want to make it so that only certain people (admins and moderators for now) can create new topics.

This is for a news/announcements sub-forum, if it helps to explain things better.

Sure you set it up for create posts admin moderator and reply to topic for registed users only. You find that in the admin menu....

I can't find it anywhere in the admin settings.  In the Setup & Admin Forums, I can setup permissions for Standard, Gold, and Premium users, but there is nothing for only creating new topics and nothing for admins/moderators.  Where can I find the stuff you're talking about?

EDIT: I'm using version 6.32

Sorry, was assuming you use 7. Security is more limited in 6.x so i would wait for 7 as it is much easier to set up security there.

Ok, thanks Michael!  Do you know if there is any ETA on when v. 7 will be final?
