Hi!

Just finished a new website:

http://www.c4Sms.com - C4 SMS!

C4 is a type of explosive, SMS for text messaging to mobile devices.  It's not a site for blowing up phones, but sending cheap SMS text messages to over 170 countries in the world.

Most texts desinations cost 1 credit, which you can buy off C4 for 3.4p.  So for example, sending a text to India will cost 3.4p, wheras on your mobile phone this might cost up to 50p.  Texts in UK are usually 1.5 credits, still a lot cheaper ( some times half the price! ) of phone operators in this country.

I am currently tidying a few pages up, but the ones when you are logged in are finished.

Features coming in the future include a ringtone library, operator logo library, picture messaging, and create your own logo, all can be sent to your phone for a fraction of the price the large companies charge!

Any comments on the design?

It's got a nifty little address book on it also.  No comments on it's look at least?

Don't really dig the Lego Buttons Font but besides that it looks ok. Don't know anyone in India so wouldn't have a need for that kind of service myself but I guess the pricing is OK.

'Lego' effect attracts the younger aduience I thought, which is who this site will mainly be targetted at.

If you refer someone you can get free credits now, login to your account and take a look.  If you refer someone you can get enough free credits to send 30 SMS messages.

C4 now open to resellers if anyone is interested.  Login to your account and use simple HTTP posts to send an SMS from your account...  This enables people to resell if they wish.

Hi Mart!

Sorry about that, I lost your payment due to a typo, it went to c4ssms.com instead of c4sms.com!

I have given your account the 10 credits now, future orders will work fine.

aren't there any free trials?

Unfortunatly I can't do that for risk of abuse.  1 Euro for 10 credits isn't expensive and gives you enough to experiment with.

I was just kidding Tongue

here in Egypt there are many sites for sending FREE sms, I don't know how they support this, but they allow sending unlimited free sms per account, may be because of the advertisment text attached to the sms.

btw, how much a sms costs if sent from a mobile?

Depends where you are and where you send it to, from the UK to most UK mobiles it's 10p

With my US carrier it depends upon what account options you have with your cell plan. They offer three sms plans each with a different per message charge for overages. If you don't have a plan, the charge is $0.10 (US) per message. Other carriers charges for no plan fees are (+-) 2 csnts or so.

There's also several million pda users who use email instead of sms. Blackberry's and Treo's are very popular to the point where the manufacturers have difficulty keeping up with demand. In my experience, email hits my pda faster than sms. YMMV.

C4sms can send an SMS to a UK mobile for 6p, and to the US for 6p.  From what I've researched into it's not worth me advertising in the US, texts are pretty cheap there although I have heard of them being sent for 25cents.

C4 can beat most UK standard mobile rates, it's common to see them at 10 or 12 pence, although some service providers have special details if the message remains within their networks.

I am very suprised I can actually beat a lot of phone providers prices.  The idea of C4 is also you can send cheap texts anywhere in the world to anywhere in the world for tiny rates, much better than what some people I know do which is 50p per text from abraod, plus the viewer pays 25p when they open it.
