Hi all!

When I paste some text from word, the text is copied along with its formatting whereas I want to only copy the text. I read somewhere that this is a problem of IE, and that you have developed a "Word Cleaner".

Where can I find that?

A similar problem is when I press Submit when in HTML view and the code gets filled with unwanted <br>.

I want to use Firefox, but (as it was mentioned elsewhere) most users use IE.

Any workarounds?
Jorgito

Don't know about Borgs word cleaner, but I never saw one that handles all of the formatting word might put in. Even the word 2003 which has an option for "clean" html does a pretty poor job.

I think the big problem is that word just has so many formatting variations that's it's almost impossible to cover them all.

I usually just select the text I want in word, paste it into a text editor, then select that text to paste into an htmml doc where I format it.

are you using the button in the RTE to pase from word docs?

This uses word tidy to fix the word HTML.

The 'Paste From Word' tool isn't intended to remove the text formatting.

When you paste from MS Word you get loads of extra unwanted code in your source code, what the 'Paste from word' tool does is remove all the extra unwanted source code.

When you submit is HTML view you are submitting the HTML source code so you will get HTML tags displayed like <br>. You need to switch back to WYSIWYG mode before you submit.
