why does the logo say phpbb when it's aspbb?

also, the page scrolls right with 800 x 600 resolution (which is more than 50% of the internet's users)...

thank you, KC.

it's the default phpbb skin by pulver
(i love phpbb dearly. it's just not easy as asp to custom! )

My planned site is 800 pixel in width, but it looks like I need to cut it down to 780.

I like your site color, KC. Light and easy --my taste

Thanks, I got the color pallete for it from some website, i can't remember now.

For the 800 pixel width problem, why don't you try using percent instead (width="95%" for example...), that way it's automatically resizable for individual resolutions.

If you like PHP so much (several posts so far that you voice your preference) why do you post here? There's no PHP forums here.

I love phpbb because of the capabilities php allows it to do which asp cannot, but for me WWG is still a better forum.

So it's wwg or shutup?  Just because this is a wwf does that mean we can't compare vbulletin, phpbb, invision, and yes wwg?  Must have missed that in the forum rules.  As long as no one is flaming or purposely putting down wwg to incite anger I don't see why we cant.  But that's just MHO.

Sure, catch me when my brains gone to dinner.

Off the top of my head I recall metioning these to a couple moderators here via email or as a suggestion and was told they were not possible through asp.

Attachments based on a quota system that's stored outside the db.

Live topic watching:  New posts up to the min, not based on the last time you visited.  This is more a vbulletin thing, but I believe phpbb also has this ability.  It's really frustrating having new posts appear as you are surfing but not seeing the new post icon.

Keeping track of which posts you have posted in.

um...yeah, think that's it.

I'm not saying that..

It just seems that everytime someone asks about something in ASP, he just tells them to do it in PHP...

then they have to ask it in the asp section  , i'm just so hooked up with that sh*t i can't stop talking about it

I hope you didn't take offense to my remark KC--I highly value your input.

I just think in a web discussion forum we should be free to talk about anything re: webdesign: JavaScript, C++, ASP, PHP, ColdFusion, etc. as long as we don't break the forum rules.

Hey, CP--you know of any good starter tutorials for PHP?

Nah man. no offense.  I might have been a little harsh at first, but it just seemed like he was trying to force "PHP or nothing" on people in this forum.  but that wasn't the case, i found out...so no big deal.

I'm all for talking about any language on this forum. I know this is an ASP forum and i post about javascript all the time...

let's all relax on a sunday and have a brew or two!

and premade scripts at http://hotscripts.com/PHP/

You said "capabilities php allows it to do which asp cannot"

I was wondering what they were.

You've listed differences in the forums which have nothing to do with the capabilities of the languages..

I think if you're going to make statements like these that you should at least try to back them up.

Cheers,
Andrew
