What format video files would ye recommend for video file downloads off the internet. I am looking for the best tradeoff between quality, download time and size. I usually use.mpeg but was wondering if any of ye use other formats.

Depends what your downloading.  Cartoons or films?

Films, as in short video clips, about 30 secs long taken from a DVD.

Some people swear by quicktime, the size is usually smaller. I would offer two version either way, like quicktime and mpeg. Also take a look at divx encoding.
