You'll want to get one that owns their own root. Verisign has been gobbling up a lot of the ssl review sites but one they haven't gotten to yet is http://www.whichssl.com/ssl-certificate-comparison.html - http://www.whichssl.com/ssl-certificate-comparison.html -------------

so the only difference between the different certs on that site really is the warranty and the level of validation of the purchaser? they all work pretty much the same, provide the same security?
What i'm needing it for is an internal interface for a large company that has brokers spread across hundreds of k's. So the issue of consumer confidence in the validity of the company is irrelevant.

The only other real difference would be that some certs are for a single domain/sub domain, and some cover a domain and all subdomains. Your server needs to be configured to support the latter which is not always available for share hosting.
