the database will look like below:

name            Staff
lau wei kim     chin chew woon
lau wei kim     thing
lau wei kim     chin
lau wei kim     kong
lau wei kim     jessy
lau wei kim     lee lee
lau wei kim     macey

kim               jessy
kim               chin
kim               ko
kim               wei
kim               kk
kim               keong
kim               han wei
kim               wah wah

how to retrive the all the staff data from database by asc

and count how many same staff in database

please provide me the coding thanks.

What kind of database is it? access, oracle, mysql, sql? but basically you will need to have two different statements for the most part but with out more info no one will be able to write the staments for you. You would need to supply the type of database and the table name it is stored on and a column name would be nice.
