I tried to install a forum on a subdomain ( http://www.sub.domain.com/forum - www.sub.domain.com/forum ). When I visit www.sub.domain.com/forum/index.asp , I see an error (first CDate; later HTTP 500).
Do I have to CHMOD any file(s) or directories?

You need to first follow the forum guidelines and install instructions
and turn off friendly HTTP errors in IE. This will then give you an
accurate error message to use to find out what the problem is.
The software is only for windows web servers. Windows web server do not
allow you to change permissions using CHMOD. If permissions need to be
changed you need to request this from your web hosts. Again this is
explained in more detail in the install instructions and only needs to
be applied to the access version to the folder containing the access
database.
