Hi all, If a page doesn't close an object, as I understand it will stay in memory. I want to just keep a check to make sure this isn't happening, so what I would like to know is which process in the task manager holds the objects? I just want to check it's not continually rising over a period of time. Tom |

Aren't the objects released when the script timesout?

The objects are session based so you can always explicitly close the
session which is a good practice if you have a "Logout" button. Doesn't necessarily mean that the objects are immediately released though. Session cleanup is a background process that happens when the server feels it has the time and inclination. 8-10 minute session timeouts are probably adequate for the vast majority of sites. The exception would be sites where usere may need to enter a lot of info through a form or CMS. Nothing worse than typing a page or two only to find you lost it upon submit because your session timed out. -------------
