It's kind of hokey though. I can't say on my web site that I'm a Linux(R) consultant without paying a fee but I could say I'm an *nix counsultant and put a pic of Tux next to it without paying anything.

Similarly, If I develop this nifty Linux(R) utility and offer it for free on my web site, it appears I'd have to pay $200.

The fee's aren't too bad and are scaled to sales for for-profit organizations, but I do think that there should be no fee for non-profit organizations and not-for-profit offerings.

The Linux Mark Institute is the Trademark enforcer and has the details on their site - http://www.linuxmark.org - www.linuxmark.org

EDIT: Looks like all those folks selling mugs and tee shirts at cafepress will have to change their designs to incorporate the (R) next to the word "Linux".
