Hi all, hopefully somebody can help me ont with my little dilema.

I’m trying to set up a WWF that will either manually/automatically, assign a newuser to a group on registration and then hide forums that the user is not allowed to see (the forums of other groups when they enter WWF

The way that I see it, (and its probably the wrong way around this) is to either -

On registration make location a mandatory field.
Manual vetting of registration - like 'you will be notified in 24 hours of your registration if its successful', to give admin time to assign that user to a group, one of 4 location groups.
Admin assigns that user to a group depending on what location the new user has selected, making it so that the user can only see the forums for his location (or group is you see what I mean)

or

Automated registration (as it is as normal) but making location mandatory.

This filtering forces a user to select one of 4 locations. These locations are groups of people, and like above I don’t want other groups to see the other location forums.
The user is set to one of 4 locations that then can be set groups and hide the other location forums from that group.

Is any of this do-able with WWF untouched or if anyone can point me in the direction of some code/how to do it that would be appreciated.

Just set up the groups and then go to the forums set-up to enable permissions for only specific groups. It's all in the admin area.

Thanks dpyers, the group permissions have all now been set 

 

On the other point, is it possible to have an admin authorisation on sign up? A sort of Manual vetting of registration - like 'you will be notified in 24 hours of your registration if it’s successful', to give admin time to assign that user to a group dependant on their location.

 

I just can’t see it on the admin panel nowhere? Is it a mod?

Use the group permissions to assign new users to a group with not access authority to any forum. Change the text in the sign-up email that they reply to to tell them that the sign-up needs to be vetted before they are authorised to view anything,
