Hi,

I have deployed .NET Server with IIS 6 and niether CDONTS nor CDOSYS components work (error in send_mail_function.inc). It happens when "User Email Notify" or "Forum Admin/Moderator Nofity" are enabled... or whenever theres email requested to be sent.

However, ie JMail works fine. Would be nice to have CDONTS back though :)

Not tried but CDONTS but CDOSYS works like a charm in Windows Server 2003. Check msdn for some sample code.

Couldnt get it to work at all, I even started from the scratch (with the forum) and as soon as I enabled User & Admin notification, it gave me errors. It would post the message/accept registration, but the email wouldnt be sent. Ive also tried CDOSYS with my email server and nothing. Did you have that error at all? Or you got rid of it somehow?

R.

DO you have your smtp server running?

You need to select CDOSYS (CDONTS does not work unless you have installed the old CDONTS.dll file) and enter "localhost" in the smtp server box (or the name of a smtp server you want to use as a smarthost like your isp's server if you dont want to send direct). Make sure you have the smtp server installed in add remove programs and running in the IIS server manager.
