I was hosting the forum on brinkster , now i move the forum to the hosting service that my ISP provides me ...
The problem is with the db

Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80040e09'

Cannot update. Database or object is read-only.

make sure the database and folder it resides in has read,write and modify permissions.

that is the issue (most likely)

i upload the files by ftp access ... the database i upload has read,write and modify permissions. but the problem persist...

has the forum folder 'database' or where it is stored also got those permissions

also try compact and repair on the database, to make sure its not damaged

Once i upload the db the properties cannot be change ....
i upload it with the correct permissions the problem persistttt....
im going mad....

Contact your web host can have them change the permissions on the file to allow read and write access.
