Hi all,

Could anyone tell me how I can measure bandwidth I use from my computer?  I'm interested in how much I chew up with certain activities on the computer.

The Windows 2000 network thinggymugig only measures in packets.

Thanks

Netlimiter is shareware and also allows you to limit speed for the whole os or just for one program.

On the free/OS side there is Pipelog: http://sourceforge.net/projects/pipelog

You can also see this thread I made about the same thing

You might want to run a couple of them. Sometimes they don't count the same things. -e.g. Some count UDP traffic, some don't. Some count tcp headers, some dont. etc.

Router stats (if your router supports them) tend to be more accurate than stats on a particular machine.

I got Pipelog and it's great, I don't really want it accurate to the bit, as long as it's roughly ok I don't mind.
