Hi

Im using the RTE on a site.

Its a very useful tool, and well written.

Ive having one issue with it.

Once ive written something in it, and its saves to the database, when i open it up again it contains some strange charactors.

For example if i write "there's" then when i open the text up for editing again it displays as "there’s"

Can anyone offer any advice.

Many Thanks

Dave Thumbs Up

These characters end up in the database as a result of cutting and pasting text written from Microsoft word. In fact all sorts of characters entered in Microsoft Word can end up 'strange' when copied to RTE. There is a Microsoft Word 'paste' button in RTE - but.... it still doesn't seem to work properly - at least not for me. My suggestion - try writing your original in Wordpad and then copying and pasting - this works fine.

Please will someone bring back punch cards...

Did you find a workaround for your problems with these funny characters? I am having the same problem. If I type any of these characters ç, ã, 's and so forth, I get double characters, just like you did.

If you found a way around this problem and would like to share, I'd appreciate
