I used the free search engine submission service on Web Wiz. I also paid a search engine submission company, Wpromote to submit my web site. They said that I had too many keywords.

They recommended that I use: <meta name="description" content="ExploreNCMountains.com will provide you with all of the information necessary to create a wonderful vacation in North Carolina Mountains.">
<meta name="keywords" content="Mountains of North Carolina,Beautiful Mountains,Explore Mountains,Explore NC Mountains,vacation in North Carolina,NC Mountains,North Carolina Mountains,Explore North Carolina Mountains">

You can find the web site at http://www.explorencmountains.com - http://www.explorencmountains.com . I really want to use more keywords. I also would like to make the description to include something about relocating to the mountains of North Carolina. Does anyone have any idea how I should do this?

It doesnt really matter Wink

Search engines no longer rely on meta tags. Google uses your meta description when displaying search results but thats it.

Search google for webmasterworld Wink

I agree with huwnet, I am under the impression search engines are now sophisticated enough to not rely on meta tags (unreliable and abused) but search actual content.

meta tags aren't as useful as they used to be. Many people where abusing them so the SE's started discounting them. They won't hurt though unless you repeat a word or phrase 100 times - lol.

Don't try to be all things to all people. You won't be successful at any of them. Target your content towards a particular search phrase or two. Pick vacations or pick relocations as a topic.

Also, remember that people use search engins to find something they already know about and are interested in. The won't get to your site by accident from a search engine. You don't need to stucture your home page content as a direct sales pitch as much as you have to structure it to use the phrase you want to be found by in an interesting context.
