Hi,
Presumably because our website has a reasonable google pagerank, we keep getting forum posts which contain lots of links to various far east websites.

Please can someone outline the best way to prevent this?
e.g. is there an option to stop a post which has more than a set level of links in it?
Many Thanks
Tex

Possibly change the permissions of your forum so only registered users can post? Or alternatively suspend registration and add new members manually?

Hi,
Thanks for that.
I was hoping there would be another way, as I don't want the regular forum users to have to do extra work because of this.
It's probably easier for me to delete the messages when they appear as I currently do.
Thanks
Tex.

I built a check that looks for the occurance of hyperlinks and sends such posts to a quarantine folder.  My current version (not posted) also automatically adds the IP to the banned list.

If you understand ASP reasonably well, this mod is simple.  If you have any questions on that mod, please post them there, not here in the support forum.

p.s. I'm not affiliated with Web Wiz Guide in any way. I'm just an average Web Wiz user repaying my debt for the use of their fine forum by trying to help other Web Wiz Guide users.
