I installed the forums fine and it worked for a while but now when users posts a reply they get this error: "An error occurred on the server when processing the URL. Please contact the system administrator." This happens even with the new version (7.95). Anyone have any ideas?

If you turn off friendly HTTP error messages in IE do you get a more detailed error message that will help workout your problem?

I fixed the problem and I suspect most people who see this error have the friendly error message set in IIS. The error itself may be due to a wrong setting in the E-mail configuration in the forum admin or your E-mail service is not set up correctly as was my case.

I will give detailed instructions on how I fixed my problem (I have a windows server 2003).

First, turn off friendly error messages in both your web browser (tools-Internet Options-Advanced-Uncheck "show friendly error messages")

Second, turn off friendly error messages in IIS (Right Click your web site-properties-home directory tab-configuration-debugging-Select "send detailed ASP error message to Client": You can switch it back when you are done finding your problem)

This will give you detailed error messages so that you can track the problem.

Third, the error message suggested it was a problem with my E-mail settings (I also run a mail server). The mail server requires SMTP authentication so I added my IP address to the privileged IP authentication section from within my E-mail server. Made sure my forum admin settings were set to "CDOSYS", and boom, everything works perfect now.

I hope this helps
