Hi Need some assistance.

I have set up an email confirmation on my forum.  However, when a new member gets an email asking them to click the link to confirm their membership the link returns a blank page see this link:

http://www.lightinfantryreunited.co.uk/newforum/de/activate.asp?ID=************

I have starred out the member details for obvious reason on the link above.

I believe the link should read

http://www.lightinfantryreunited.co.uk/newforum/default.asp?ID+ **********

I notice that in the email set up page that the box for the link to the forum web page will not allow me to enter the correct amount of characters toallow the link to be shown in full.  How can I fix thisAND is this the problem or is there something else going on.

Should I open the email_notify_confirgure.asp page and increase the text field char max char from 50 to whatever it should be which I lelieve is 59

What email component are you using?

Some are known to shorten the links in emails.

Hi MadDog.

I changed the text field on the page to accept 59 characters instead of 50 and it seems to have fixed the proble.  It is retunring the klink

Which is confirming a members activation.  Cant understand the double forward slashes in the link though????

Regards

Cannylad
