Hi
I'm relatively new to all this & I recently set up my forum.
Initially I was really pleased with it - it was so much easier to
reconfigure & to restyle than other forums I've tried. However,
after a short while, I started to get an MS JET Database Engine error,
which mentioned common.asp.
I checked the common.asp file & reloaded it (made no difference), I
then reloaded both files and the database (made no difference) and
finally, I reloaded the whole forum. This did make a difference, but
only for about 24 hours! I now have the same error:
Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'
Unspecified error
/forum/common.asp, line 261
Has anyone any idea what is going on? And, if so, how can I resolve this problem?
Emily

sounds like the forum files and database are corrupting on you.
try downloading a fresh copy from WebWiz, and use a good unzipper like WinRAR.
also make sure to do a compact and repair on the database before its
uploaded as this is where corruption mostly happens when in transit.
who are you hosted with, it maybe they are overloading the servers are are not running on very good servers.

If the error is intermitent, it could also suggest a corruption in the database drivers installed on the web server.

Thanks for all your advice.
The forum that wasn't there yesterday, is there today! So, I think it's probably a web server problem.
