I'm currently changing some parts of the forum (trying to make the Post topic box larger) and I'm unable to get the pages to change online...

I upload the pages with SmartFtp and the pages are changed when i view them on the server with Remote Desktop but for some reason the code comes up unchanged when viewed in the browser...

Solutions i have tried that have failed...

1)CTRL + F5 for a hard refresh.
2)Running NT?

Go to the properties of the virtual dir/site and click on create (Not sure which page it is on) and then click on Configuration (Right underneath it). The Caching box should be ticked.

Take the tick out whilst developing.

It causes problems with re-directs and a few other bits but it's solved once you put it back on.

Once it's on click on Unload to unload it from memory which will stop the caching problem.

3)changine Response.CacheControl = "No-Store"
to
Response.CacheControl = "no-cache"

Have you tried from an entirely different network (to eliminate proxy servers)? Does your host do any kind of page proxying? Does this happen on all asp pages, not just the page with the topic box?

I once had a host that proxied asp pages and changes to asp pages would take up to an hour before they were seen by the world. To get around that problem, I would actually have to delete the page to force a 404 error, then upload the changes.

p.s. I'm not affiliated with Web Wiz Guide in any way. I'm just an average Web Wiz user repaying my debt for the use of their fine forum by trying to help other Web Wiz Guide users.

I have noticed this same issue when I upgraded from 7.95 to 7.96. After the upgrade I still was getting the 7.95 page, so I tried another browser and eventually another machine that had never been on the site previously. I asked a friend to check it from his network and he received the same page. I think this may have something to do with the web server caching the page as it serves it. I am not 100% on that, but after about an hour I went back and checked and all was up to date.  So, give it some time... maybe your problem is similar to mine.
