I just put up v2.0 of the http://renegademinds.com/Default.aspx?tabid=68 - Renegade Email Protector . It lets you publish email addresses on web sites without worrying about spambots harvesting them.

There are 4 versions of obfuscated/munged code generated, and each one is stronger than the previous one.

#4 is just pure nastiness. That's what I'm using Smile

Anyways, it's free so I hope some people enjoy it and can use it.

Oh, and for those that feel like being skeptical... Yes - it is theoretically possible for a spambot to get the address, but very very far from practical. I can explain why it just isn't within the realms of reality if you like.

Browsers run on clients with lots of resources so they can "figure out" what the actual email address is relatively cheaply/quickly. Spamming requires maximum efficiency and parsing all the javascript and other stuff on a page for a spambot email harvester is just far too expensive to do.

It's not that doing it 1x is expensive. It's that doing it millions of times is far too expensive (CPU-wise).

Spam is all about numbers, not quality, so missing a few encrypted email addresses doesn't matter as it's easier and cheaper to get unencrypted email addresses.

I'm getting a runtime error at the moment.

The best way is to put it in an image which can easily be incorporated into a forum signature etc easily anyway.

I dont usually give out my e-mail, people can just use the online contact form.

I think about four people from this forum have my e-mail LOL

Yeah, I still get an error too. But if you go back through the main site it works fine. Thanks. This should be a great program. I used to use e_cloaker but it only had one obfuscation level.

Was looking at your EMERGENCY email as well.. but cannot seem to find a download link.. How can I download it
