Minor format issue...

Sometimes (not all the time) a break (or something) is inserted before the text of a post, even though the user is not entering one.

Anyone know what causes this, and how it might be resolved? I can't seem to locate the relevant code, hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks to borg by the way, for all your work. It's much appreciated!

No one else has this prob?

I've tested it several times, and without entering a break, one often appears once posted. Although the preview will show it without the preceding break.

Odd that it doesn't happen 100% of the time though...

This can be down to a number of things as the WYSIWYG (RTE) Editor is quite complex.

It could be due to yoru web browser, or it maybe that you have anti-add/popup software, or even your firewall is injecting code into your web pages that you vew which is coursing the problem.

I have seen exactly the same thing.
Even on this forum.

It's to do with <p> being inserted before the text.

I have no idea how to fix it though Confused

But it's food for thought.

I did something with an older version of the rte to change the size of the paragraph spacing. Where the rte inseted a <p>, I changed it to insert <p class="rteP">

Then on the stylesheet for the page it was displayed on, I included
rteP {margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:0px; padding-top:0px; padding-bottom:2px;}

Lead me not into temptation... I know the short cut, follow me.
