Hello,

I'm looking for professional ActiveX-Controls "for commercial use" in our ASP ("the old ASP") sites.

Especially controls for

- getting access to an FTP server from the ASP Code

- file download ("Save as") > give the user a comfortable possibility to download e.g. pdf-files WITHOUT opening these files in the acrobat plugin

- file upload and management of the uploads
(example: for use in the editor of web wiz to give the user the possibilitiy to manage his uploads/attachments on the server, deleting them, renaming them etc.)

- Most ocx vendors have asp versions of their ftp controls. Googling for asp ftp components turns up tons of them.

- What happens to a file type (save or open) is under the users control, not yours, for security reasons. - keeps exe's and othe nasties from running autmatically.

- Innovastudio has a free asset manager that I've integrated into a few sites. Prety fast and offers previews of images and can fire up media files from the app.
A lot of people also integrate WebExplorer Lite in their asp apps. I've been told it's got a lot of features but is a little slow unless you disable some of the bells and whistles.

One problem with enabling users to manage assets is that the links to them in varios posts won't be deleted when the asset is.
