Web Wiz Forums version 8 will not work on free hosting accounts becuase it uses application variables, this means that all forums on a free host will share the same setup.

Sorry I saw the Brinkster part in your URL and just presumed that you had a Brinkster free account.

Seems strange that it is defaulting back to the original CSS, have you tried deleting the old CSS and just leaving your own modified one?

ok its sorted! Very strange i had changed the widths of the tables from a percentage to 725 now i have changed it to 700px and it works fine.

Just the other question of where has the "top of page" in forum_posts.asp gone please? I know this is used by my users alot.

I also had a problem with the CSS, when i changed a few colors and reuploaded it, the forum couldn't find the style sheet at all, at first i assumed it was just a corrupt upload but after another few uploads it still refused to register the style sheet at all.

In the end i solved it by going into the admin area's skin management area and just hitting submit on the default values, once returning to the main forum page all was well.

MySQL version.

Edit: This may be only a prob because i didn't relise my server was only running MySQL 4.0!

I've already got this on my to 'To Do' list.

The problem is that the skin details are stored in an application variable and in my hurry to get the skins page written on the launch day of beta 1 I missed out the code to update the application variables.

I do plan on completly re-writing the skin page before the final release as I want to supply the forum with a number of different skins the admin can choose from.

I'm also looking into the possiablity of have mutiple skins that the user can use, but I want to find away of doing this without the need of a database hit for each page to get the skin data.

Borg, with your query regarding the User skin changing...

I used to use a script that http://www.web-sn.com - http://www.web-sn.com  created (not sure where their site has gone though), which changed the .css that was in use, without having the refresh etc.

This is my old site, so apologies if there's dead links etc, but you can get the idea of things by using the drop down box at the top right - http://www.mortioli.co.uk/%5Fsite/ - http://www.mortioli.co.uk/%5Fsite/  (you may notice that it does look like it's refreshing when you first choose a skin, but select another, then back again, and you'll see that no refresh takes place)
