i did a search for this topic but didn't get desired results... so, if i overlooked a topic, please point me in the right direction.... ok question.

once a poll has been made, is the only way to change it, to manually edit the db?

and are there plans to be able to edit it, just like editing a topic, in the future?

I think that would be a nice feature as well.

I don't understand why you would wanna do that, I call that cheating.

Sounds as if it would be a great feature!

The administrator could say who has the right to edit polls (It could be just administrators/moderators or the user who created the poll).

Yes I brought that issue up right after Version 4 (beta) was released.  It was be awesome to be able to edit the polls, such as add or delete options.  It would be even BETTER to change from radio buttons to check boxes and allow multiple voting in each poll.  It could be an option or a mod.  I have ran across many instances where being allowed to select multiple items and submit the result would be ideal.

I like the idea.

michael, i see what you are saying... and this is not what I'm suggesting.  I'd just like to edit say a spelling error without having to create a new thread and new poll....

perhaps have it coded to where it would reset the poll if it is edited, but allowing you to keep all posts so far in the thread...? just throwing that out there....

so it sounds like this is going to have to be a mod... i guess i'll write it if i get time...

I see what you are saying, but I think if you forgot an entry or misspelled a word than it's necessary.

That is a different story, editing spelling errors or such would not be too bad.

If you create a new poll in a thread then the poll wont be created in the thread you pushed the "new poll" button. It starts a new thread instead...

I can se that the querystring is pointing to the id of the "main thread". Should it be like this or?

Try this program, http://www.hkvstore.com/aspmaker/ - http://www.hkvstore.com/aspmaker/

download ASP maker, run it,

it creates wabpages which show you all the tables of you database and you can edit the content, not the fields.

If you want to change somthing you don't have to download the file or close your forum

Hans.

ps tip from bobski

This application has been around for a while and actually produces quite usable code.
