Topic: Email Link error

If there is a topic in my Forum which I want to bring to the attention of Members I quite often send the email to a larger Group via Outlook.

I go to the Forum/and or Topic via Firefox and then copy the full url from the address box.  I then transfer this to the email and then send the email.

However,  when the link on the email is clicked by the recipient a page appears with the following:

Sorry, only members with sufficient permission can access this page.

It doesn't matter if the recipient is already logged on.  I have the Topic/Forum set for ALL USERS to be able to read and access it.  Even me, as Administrator, cannot access the page from an email link.  However if I copy the link from the email to the address field of IE and/or Firefox - the link works fine and the page opens as expected!

Is this a glitch or do I have a problem that I wasn't aware of?

Make sure the link when clicked is correct.

Often email clients and SMTP servers can remove dots (.) or other parts of long URL's so when clicked they don't work correctly.

When I copy the link (from an email that I've sent to myself) and then paste it into the address field of IE or Firefox - the link loads perfectly.

The link appears to want to load up correctly - it just appears that 'Web Wiz Forum' ignores the 'logged on' cookie if the page is loaded via a link embedded in an email.

I can't see how that can be, browsers wouldn't not load cookies bacuase the link was from an email.

Sorry - it was all my fault!

I logged on using Firefox - and Outlouk loaded the link up in IE (which wasn't what I was logged on through) hence the 'insufficient permissions default.

I'm sorry to have wasted your time.
