sorry 4 the stupid Q!!!!!!  bt I need to knw how to archive my forum?... m using v 7.96 ..where in amdin section under the 'Forum Clearout and Archive  option i m not sure exactly which to use to archive the forum and how...... pls help me .... and how can i get the links to my archived topics ???  thnx in advance ...

The tool in the admin section simply locks old Topics.

There is no archive tool in the way you mean.

You shouldn't really need to archive topics anyway, why did you want to do this?

^^i thought archiving  would make it more  search engine friendly ......  i read it somewhere ..isnt it true?

I can't see how, I would have thought that having the extra pages to index is more likely for your site to come up in a search result.

Just create a new forum called "Archives" then when you hae topics you want to close, lock them and move them to the Archive forum.

That way you have all the old ones that are no longer active still accessable for reference.

Don't do like I did and delete them all.  After doing so I realized that is not what I wanted to do.
