Hi, since i didn't find this topic anywhere, might as well make one :)

Issue:
I've been looking around, and noticed that it's impossible for a user to be member of several groups, right ? This would be a good late feature to implement maybe...

Practical Example:
I have a Gamers community, where game X and game Y are played.
And sometimes i want to use the mailing list feature to mail the members (Everybody) or the members that play a specific game (X or Y). The way it's done the members can only be in one group, if they could be part of several groups, that would rock :)

Thx for your time.

PS: Dunno if the support Forum is the best place to put this... sorry if it isn't :(

That was a very good issue. But you can create many groups for a forum so a member can reach more than just one hidden or one with special permissions.

In  the next beta you will be able to set forum permissions for individual users that will overide their group permissions on a forum, or even make them a moderator on a forum which should take away thye need for members being in multiple groups.

That's great boRg, but that's not the only thing i had in mind.... i was thinking that by doing so, you could use the mailing list to a much bigger level, imagine something like:

Day 1) You want to message all the Group X ppl
Day 2) You want to message all the Group Y ppl
Day 3) You want to message everyone in Groups

You have ppl that belong in Group X, in Group Y and in both

Imagine you have:

Person A) Belongs to Group X
Person B) Belongs to Group X
Person B) Belongs to Group Y

Person B will miss one of the mailings, cause she can only be part of one group, though actually she is part of both

It's not possible now, but it would be later.

PS: Maybe i'm not making myself clear... :(

Having members be in multiple groups won't be added, not only would it be complicated for the user to setup, it would also be complicated to program, eg. which group do you show them a members of, which set of group permisisons on a forum would be the one to use for that member on that forum, it would just open up a large complicated can or worms that would be very difficult to administer.
