I heard that a few days ago in The Register or somewhere... I forget... Anyways, I bet some heads are going to roll there. The cloaking was really poor too - javascript redirects... Idiots...

A company like BMW should have a high rank anyway so tricking the searches engines is really unessecary

The problem wasn't them turning up first when people searchd for "BMW" apparently they were cloaking pages that turned up in a search for "used cars" and the cloaked pages wound up redirecting to the BMW Germany site.
Don't really know which sites got slapped down - the cloaked page site or the BMW Germany. I would think it would be BMW Germany. In the US, a search for BMW still puts them on top of the results.
