Hello,

I have a new installation of 7.x

All users are remarking that when they try and post it something, it hands forever. Often it ends in either a white screen, or a "Page Cannot Be Displayed" error. Even with friendly messages turned off, there is no reason given.

The post/reply does successfully get created, but I noticed that the topic count does not go up at all.

Is this a common occurrence?

All other aspects of the forum are working perfectly.

It sounds like an email issue coursed by a delay in connecting to the SMTP server to send email notifications.

To test if this is the case try disabling the email tools from the admin area and see if that clears the problem up.

If it does try to use a 'localhost' SMTP server, if possible as this would speed up the time taken to connect to the SMTP server.
